Methodology & Independence
Rider evidence is only useful if the way it was gathered can be examined. This is how the work is done.
How responses are collected
Census responses are collected online, one response per person, from active, former and prospective riders across the United States. Participation is voluntary and unpaid. Responses are timestamped, quality-screened for implausible completion speed, and deduplicated before analysis.
How identity is protected
Contact details are stored separately from research answers. ZIP codes are converted to analysis regions and are never reported individually. Written answers are quoted only with the rider's explicit permission, and never with identifying detail attached.
How findings are reported
Brand- and dealer-level findings are published only where the sample base supports the claim. Limitations are documented alongside results, and material errors are corrected publicly.
Independence charter
- 01
Riders come first. Research questions start with rider experience, not a sponsor's desired conclusion.
- 02
TRP owns its brand, research instruments, panel relationships, raw responses, analysis, and editorial decisions.
- 03
Personal rider information is never sold. Reporting uses aggregated and anonymized data.
- 04
Sponsors and commercial relationships are disclosed when relevant.
- 05
Sponsors may correct factual descriptions of their own products or processes but may not edit, delay, or suppress findings.
- 06
Brand-level findings are published only when sample base and methodology support the claim.
- 07
TRP corrects material errors publicly and documents limitations.
- 08
No partner receives exclusivity over the rider panel, TRP voice, or motorcycle category.
